Ms. Peter's 4th and 5th grade students from room 7 have been studying Van Gogh. In the spirit of this study, they drew inspiration from his many paintings of sunflowers. Each student painted their unique interpretation of a sunflower. The sunflowers were then put together into one bouquet collage and framed.

Mrs. Hemmings Class worked with local artist Leo Peck to make this beautiful Art Piece. The Children made impressions on the tiles, and Leo fired all the pieces and then mounted them in a Black Wooded Frame.
This year, Room 2 has studied about the Chinese New Year and the Chinese culture. We decided it would be appropriate to make a collage of the fascinating Chinese Dragon to auction off. It is in a 16x20 black frame with red matting. All of the students cut out different shapes of beautiful vibrant colored pieces to put together to make this dramatic dragon.
Mt. George has implemented a new technology-based math program in 3rd - 5th grade called STMath. It is a non-verbal program that reinforces math concepts and develops spacial and visual thinking. Our students not only are learning math but they LOVE using the program and helping “JiJi” the penguin on his adventures. We would like to expand this program for the whole school. We are piloting the program and have received a grant for the software, but we need to raise enough money to purchase computers for several classrooms and add computers for our “growing” classroom numbers for next year. This program fits nicely with our vision for students to become critical thinkers and problem solvers. Thank you!
Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. Title's Class have put together this beautiful framed art piece of each childs individual painting of the Native Trees of Napa Valley done in acrylic paint.
